The Lubrizol Corporation’s Noveon Consumer Specialties releases Carbopol Aqua SF-2 polymer (INCI Proposed: Acrylates Crosspolymer-X), Lubrizol’s next generation of premier rheology modifiers for cleansing formulations.

Colour measurement at UK show

X-Rite Europe will demonstrate colour measurement technology used by some of the world’s largest cosmetic companies at the SCS Formulate show sponsored by the Society of Cosmetic Scientists on 9-10 November.

Mild amphoteric addition

Surfactant company, Colonial Chemical, has added Cola Teric CET (INCI: Cetyl Betaine) to its personal care line. Cola Teric CET is a mild amphoteric surfactant with inherently low skin and eye irritation.

Ingredient slows hair growth

Sederma has launched Kelisoft, a hair growth minimiser for men and women, efficient on both beards and underarms. Kelisoft slows down hair growth while refining its diameter. The hair is thus less visible and the need to shave as often is reduced.

Distribution partner chosen

Hayashibara Company has chosen DKSH as distribution partner to collaborate throughout Europe, Israel, South East Asia, and Japan.

European distribution agreed

Botaneco announced that it has entered into an agreement with Seppic for distribution of the Hydresia product line in the European personal care market.

Quinoa protein for hair

As hair is exposed to daily stressors such as UV exposure, heat styling and frequent washing, it becomes dry and damaged. Quinoa Pro EX (INCI Name: Hydrolyzed Quinoa) is a new hydrolysed quinoa protein from TRI-K Industries that binds to the hair shaft and penetrates the cortex bringing moisture and repair deep into the hair.

Active is key antiageing product

Silab proposes a new range of active substances called “Silab actives you can’t perform without”. The natural actives selected for the range have demonstrated by in vitro and in vivo studies to be essential ingredients in cosmetic skin care products.

New executive VP appointed

Louis M. Pace has joined The HallStar Company as executive vice president, a newly created position. He will report to John Paro, chairman, president & CEO of the specialty chemical company.

GMP certification announced

Gattefossé, international supplier of specialty pharmaceutical and cosmetic ingredients, has announced that it is one of the first manufacturers to receive a certification of compliance with the GMP guidelines published in 2008 by the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI).

ECOCERT for oat ingredients

Newly-formed Oat Cosmetics has recently gained ECOCERT approval for the natural origins of its OC Oat Oil and CP Oat Avenanthramides ingredients. Oat Cosmetics works in partnership with a specialist Canadian company, Ceapro, which has a long history in oats.

Sabinsa Corporation’s R&D group has developed two new patent pending ingredient compositions with proven preservative efficacy: SabiLize-Alpha and SabiLize-Beta.

Acquisition of Presperse

Sumitomo Corporation (SC) and its wholly-owned subsidiary Sumitomo Corporation of America (SCOA), jointly known as Sumitomo, have entered an agreement to acquire Presperse LLC, a leading global formulator and distributor of specialty ingredients and formulated solutions for the cosmetic and personal care markets.

Norwegian ingredients for Asian firm

Aqua Bio Technology, a Norwegian marine biotech firm developing, producing and selling patented marine based ingredients and technologies to the international cosmetic and skin care industry, announced it has entered into a sales agreement with a highly-regarded Asian manufacturer of skin care products.

Distribution partner chosen

Hayashibara Company has chosen DKSH as distribution partner to collaborate throughout Europe, Israel, South East Asia, and Japan. Under this agreement, DKSH’s business unit performance materials, a leading provider of specialty chemicals and food ingredients, will distribute Hayashibara’s pharmaceutical excipients in 26 countries.
