Beginning from research in saccharides and enzymes.

Founded in 1883 as Hayashibara, we became one of the Japan’s biggest syrup manufacturers and industrialized the enzymatic production of glucose from starch in the 1950s. Since then, we have developed our expertise in glycoscience and microbiology, leading to the launch of various saccharide ingredients for extensive fields of food, personal care, and pharmaceuticals.

After joining NAGASE group in 2012 to expand our business to the world, we have changed our company name to Nagase Viita in April 2024, aiming to further enhance well-being and positively impact people’s lives.
