The 23rd IFSCC Conference was held in Zurich, Switzerland from the 21-23 September and took as its inspiration the phrase: More Facts, Less Illusions.
Once again, the event illustrated how important IFSCC events are, due to the fact they draw together the finest technical minds and provide a snapshot of an industry in a constant state of transition.
In the welcoming notes for the event, IFSCC President Claudie Willemin commented: “The IFSCC Congresses and Conferences are the only worldwide scientific events for advancing cosmetic science. With such high level of science we are able to attract scientists from all over the word and this year some of them are coming from new member countries presenting their works.” The sentiments were certainly apt, with noticeably excellent level of scientific content and it was pleasing to see a large number of new contributing companies and academic institutions.
The Zurich Conference was opened by Fred Zulli of Mibelle Biochemistry. Fred is the Chairperson of the IFSCC 2015 Scientific Committee. In welcoming the delegates and thanking all contributors, Fred explained the five scientific themes of the Conference were:
