Paraben endocrine disruption and expression by P. mirifica

Some have said the cosmetic chemistry is an art and others say it is a science. For the purposes of this article, I shall view cosmetic chemists as scientists, and the two things that I cannot explain or understand are how any scientist can still deny Global Warming or claim that parabens are safe. I am pretty sure the islanders of the Pacific are more concerned about the consequences of global warming and those of us who work with real life and/or with human physiology are more disturbed by parabens being proven endocrine disruptors than those who claim parabens have never been shown to be unsafe. 

I co-developed the standardised extract of Pueraria mirifica (Puresterol®), from a herb that only grows in Thailand. One of the many proven properties of Puresterol, a registered safe cosmetic ingredient, is that it inhibits collagenase, the enzyme that breaks down collagen. It also expresses on all 200 sites of ERs. One product we designed is for menopausal women, who by virtue of menopause’s definition, have lost their oestrogen. Among the major symptoms of menopause is a loss of sex drive; however, it is actually cosmetically driven. Women seek lubrication in the absence of self-lubrication. So, we make for our customers, a ‘female gel’, which oestrogenises the tissues and restores a woman’s youth. So what does this all have to do with parabens?
