Croda has recognised the demand for new sensory experiences and so, for the past few years the Sun Care & Biotechnology team has focused on technology to deliver new sensations and has announced the launch of Solaveil ST-100.
Solaveil ST-100 is a new titanium dioxide (TiO2) dispersion that combines optimum UV performance with enhanced aesthetics enabling the formulation of light and luxurious UV protection products. Featuring innovative silane coating, which is covered by an international patent, Solaveil ST-100 offers excellent UVB protection, and due to a tightly controlled particle size distribution, provides true transparency on the skin. The skin feel of Solaveil ST-100 is directly attributed to its patented silane coating technology. Sensory optimised titanium dioxide dispersions typically rely on dimethicone coatings and silicone carrier oils to deliver an elegant skin feel. By contrast Solaveil ST-100 employs a hydrated silica surface with a hydrophobically modified silane outer coating to deliver a light and luxurious skin feel, without the need for silicone based dispersions.
