DSM-Firmenich opens doors to ‘House of Science’

DSM-Firmenich Beauty & Care has taken the wraps off a global ‘House of Science’ campaign that aims to showcase the depth of its R&D expertise.

The Swiss-Dutch company makes an annual group-wide investment of over €700m ($826m) in R&D and has a global network of over 2,000 scientists and engineers, including those in Beauty & Care.

From biotechnology and microbiome research to data science and phyto-expertise, DSM-Firmenich’s platform is built to meet evolving consumer needs.

Its global Beauty & Care R&D community develops solutions that empower brands and consumers—combining pioneering expertise in skin, hair, and sun care with technologies that are effective, sustainable, and designed to elevate everyday life.

“We bring progress to life by combining the essential, the desirable, and the sustainable,” said Parand Salmassinia, President of Beauty & Care.

“In such a quest, we drive progress to people and planet with ambitious sustainability goals, targeting 90% biodegradable bioactives and 100% responsibly sourced key natural ingredients by 2030, and net zero carbon emissions by 2045,” she added.

The House of Science positioning reflects a broader ambition for the business, which is to lead with purpose – bringing beauty and health into everyday life, while advancing scientific excellence and protecting the planet for generations to come.

“We are proud to be an innovation powerhouse in the beauty industry, elevating beauty through purpose and scientific impact” said Hendrik Reuter, Vice-president of Global R&D and Innovation, Beauty & Care.

“Our House of Science represents a living ecosystem of innovation. It brings together award-winning technologies, deep scientific capabilities and expertise, and a collaborative spirit that fuels progress across the beauty industry,” he added.
