Marine biotech firm strikes deal

Scottish marine biotechnology company, Aquapharm Biodiscovery, which signed a three year R&D agreement with Croda, a global leader in speciality chemicals for the personal care market in 2008, has struck a renewed deal to work with Croda’s cosmetics subsidiary, Sederma, to advance a shortlist of naturally sourced candidates.

Cornelius’ investment in Cornelius France follows recent expansions into Poland and Eastern Europe and reaffirms their commitment to grow Cornelius into a pan- European distributor of speciality chemicals.

UV protection for hair fibre

UV radiation is one of the factors responsible for hair proteins and lipids oxidation which degrade the hair causing a loss in strength, shine and colour. Sunlight alters the amino acids of the cuticle more intensely than those of the cortex, because the outermost layers of the hair fibres receive more intense radiation.
