Indena has announced that its Centella asiatica purified dry extract has obtained Ecocert validation.
Thanks to its food grade, its water solubility, its almost 45% of triterpenes and about 55% of polyphenols content, the Centella asiatica purified dry extract from Indena may be used both in nutricosmetic products and green cosmetic formulations, where it performs its anti-inflammatory, antiageing and anti-wrinkle, antioxidant, and firming activity. The extract is also certified Kosher, Halal and GMP. Centella is a perennial, polymorphous, creeping herbaceous plant belonging to the Apiaceae (Umbelliferae) family. It has been widely used both in Indian ayurvedic medicine and as a traditional herbal medicine in Asia and India. Centella leaves from Madagascar and East Africa are the most reliable source and the Centella asiatica purified dry extract from Indena is one of the very few derivatives from this plant that have been Ecocert validated. The Centella asiatica purified dry extract production process, which starts from the centella leaves collection in Madagascar, is part of the Indena commitment to create and maintain long lasting relationships with local entities and populations. With the company’s support, some Indena people in Madagascar are directly involved in social responsibility projects taking place locally, for example the traditional initiative “Another Place at the Table” in Fianarantsoa and the new elementary school building in Lakora.
