A new player in the personal care silicones market, BRB International BV, is one of the largest independent producers in the world and has several new offerings for formulators.
BRB is now offering a complete range of silicone crosspolymers (INCI: Dimethicone or Cyclopentasiloxane/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer). Crosspolymers are unique products acting as thickening agents for water-in-oil and waterin- silicone formulations, compatible with a variety of lipophilic active ingredients such as fragrances, sunscreens, vitamins etc. They provide dry smoothness and a light silky, nongreasy skin feel. Applications vary from body and skin care to colour cosmetics. BRB has also launched a range of D5 alternatives. In addition to the low viscosity volatile dimethicones (BRB DM 1, 1.5 and 2 cSt), BRB offers two new dimethicones, BRB DM 55 and BRB DM 66, which perfectly match the volatility profile of D5 and D5/D6 blend respectively, offering a straightforward replacement alternative in formulations. BRB’s range of low viscosity dimethicones allows customers to formulate away from D5 and still offer effective products that deliver the enhanced sensory properties of silicones. BRB is completing its range for hair care, lotions and make-up with polyquarternium polymers. All these products are REACH registered and paraben free. The products in focus are PQ-6, PQ-7, PQ-10 and PQ-11. Polyquarterniums deliver essential styling and conditioning attributes.
