Cosmetic formulators in Malaysia, Jakarta, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila have been treated to free technical training days over the past few months as part of the lead up to FormulaCare i-2010.
The most recent training, held in Manila, was also an opportunity for the PSCS Philippine Society of Cosmetic Scientists to mark their 30th anniversary. They were able to present a video as well as Pearl Anniversary awards to the past presidents. The incoming president, Evelyn Fontanillo, and committee are working very closely with FormulaCare to ensure the event is successful. They have recently sent out a call for papers for their conference that will be a joint effort between the CCIP and the PSCS. This will be held a day prior to FormulaCare on the 16 March 2010 and is entitled Going Green – Sustainability for Growth. Philip Jacobs of B&T commented: “The response from the delegates attending the road shows was encouraging as they appreciated the content of the papers and the depth of expertise which was presented to them. Although there were four different technologies presented there seemed to be a synergy of the data, which made it a real pleasure to be member of the presentation team.” Organiser of the event, Pam Jones, added: “I was so proud to see the technical experts from Croda, BASF, B&T and Seppic working shoulder to shoulder, training the young formulators in the basic technology they need in order to enhance their skills in the cosmetics industry.” Numbers of formulators attending the event in March are expected to be good. The workshops offering technology transfer are now booked and the abstracts can be seen on the website. More information on FormulaCare i-2010 can also be found on page 45 of this issue.
