Tackling dilated pores

Silab introduced their new product to address dilated pores at this year’s HBA Global Expo.

A concern of men and women of any age and any ethnic origin, the problem of dilated pores is often associated with an excess of sebum and the relaxation of skin tissues that occurs with age. Recent studies identify a third cause of this phenomenon: an abnormal accelerated keratinisation process leading to accumulation of nucleated cells around the pores. Silab research has developed p-REFINYL, a multi-action active ingredient which attenuates the unsightly appearance of dilated pores. As well as reducing sebum production, it is rich in oligosaccharides and stimulates the process of keratinocyte maturation, thus eliminating from the pore the nucleated cells which stiffen its walls. It also limits pore distortion and slackening, by reinforcing the collagen structure of the dermis. By tightening the pores, p-REFINYL smoothes the skin grain and limits shininess, making the complexion more uniform and more radiant. Its effect on sebum production has been tested with results suggesting a reduction of sebum on Caucasian skin of 9.5% on the forehead and on Asian skin the reduction was 29%.
