Nanjing production starts

Interpolymer has reported that the first production line of a new facility for waterborne styrene-acrylic dispersions, acrylic solutions and wax dispersions has started production in Nanjing, China.

The plant is scheduled to be fully operational for all technology platforms by June. The plant was constructed on a greenfield site at the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park with a current capacity of 40,000 metric tons annually and with additional space for further expansion. “This modern manufacturing site will further strengthen our position as a global supplier of specialty acrylic polymers,” stated Siegfried J. Gillich, general manager responsible for the business in Europe and Asia Pacific regions. The plant has been designed with the capabilities to manufacture environmentallyfriendly polymers and additives for specialty paints, inks and coatings, personal care products, detergents and cleaners, as well as for tailor-made polymers.
