New bimodal polymer for hair styling

Interpolymer’s unique bimodal polymer platform is designed to produce quick-setting hold, high humidity resistance, and excellent curl retention in hair styling products.

The polymers in this platform form flexible, easily removable, high-gloss films that feel pleasantly crisp with no flaking or build-up. This innovative technology combines two unique polymer chains, intertwined to achieve a balance between powerful hold, easy removability, and film formation properties. These polymers can be added to sprayable/pumpable formulas “as is” at room temperatures in order to lower VOC levels or can be formulated either in mousse or lotion. Earlier this year, Interpolymer launched the SYNTRAN PC 5117 created for low VOC aerosols. This new polymer introduction will complete the patent-pending bimodal platform, consisting of SYNTRAN PC 5100, PC 5112, and PC 5107 (formerly EX 107) polymers, and will allow formulators to attain new levels of quality and consistency. With its locations in the US, Germany, France and China, the Interpolymer group is a global player in developing and producing acrylate polymers and wax emulsions to be used in products for cleaning, cosmetic and industrial applications.
