Silab’s anti-ageing active, Commusys, won an award at the recent Making Cosmetics trade show in Milan, Italy.
Commusys won the Wise Ingredients Award in the active ingredients category.
The ingredient, composed of biopeptides from the yeast Pichia stipitis, is grown in Silab’s biotechnology production unit.
Thanks to its capacity to restore dermis-epidermis communication altered during ageing, it is said to offer an innovative anti-ageing solution with hydrating, smoothing and radiance-boosting effects.
“Commusys brings together several of our areas of expertise: our in-depth knowledge of skin biology, of course, but also our ability to select and beneficially use natural peptides and our cutting-edge mastery of biotechnologies,” said CEO Brigitte Closs-Gonthier.
“We have our own biotechnology production unit, enabling the large-scale growing of yeast, microalgae and bacteria, whose fascinating properties open up access to unique molecules of interest,” she added.
“We are very pleased to receive this award, which highlights these three SIilab signatures and underlines the scientific innovation behind this active ingredient.”
