Black Seed Oil added to range

Seatons, the vegetable oil supply division of Croda International Plc, has launched Seatons Black Seed Oil (INCI name: Nigella sativa oil) as an addition to its range of exotic products for the personal care market.

The seeds were discovered in the last century in the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings, illustrating the historical importance of Nigella sativa.

The seeds are also mentioned favourably in ancient religious texts. Black Seed is known as the Blessed Seed due to its reputation for curing many historical ailments. The many names of Nigella sativa – Kalonji, Black Cumin, Albarakah – show how many cultures have recognised the potential of the Black Seed.

Delicately fragranced, Seatons Black Seed Oil is derived from the pitch black coloured seeds of Nigella sativa. This spice is cultivated from modern day Egypt through the Middle East to Western India.

Rich in polyunsaturates, Seatons Black Seed Oil is naturally compatible with the skin. Seatons believes that the oil conjures up images of spice, warmth, longevity, mystery and inner peace.
