Preservative-free whitening active offered

Alban Muller International has added a new cosmetic ingredient to its range – Whitami, a preservative-free whitening active formulated with extracts from Asian plants and said to be ideal for lightening care and to reduce brown marks.

Whitami was developed by the company’s laboratories using eco-designed extracts from two unique plants – Hokkai Toki and Bofu – used for an extremely long time in Asia for their ability to even the skin. The plants are native to northern China and they have properties which are still unknown in Europe.

Hokkai Toki is an aromatic plant used in Japan and Korea as a spice and also as a toner and as a medicine. Bofu is of great importance in traditional Asian medicine and is famous for its skin care purposes.

Whitami is a comprehensive active as it also contains a protection screen for UV rays, pine oligomeric-proanthocyanidins, powerful antioxidants, and papain which acts as a soft scrub.

Lightening actives were initially developed for a specific skin type. Today, however, they are used by people with a wider range of skin types – they are utilised to reduce brown marks on lighter skin and to achive a bright and even complexion.

The activity of Whitami has been compared in vitro to that of hydroquinone, the well-known cosmetic whitening active, and, Alban Muller International says, Whitami has been shown to be more efficient in smaller concentrations. As with other Alban Muller products, Whitami is supplied with documentation guaranteeing quality, harmlessness, and conformity with regulations.
