The organisers of the 2020 IFSCC Congress, due to take place in Yokohama between 20 and 23 October, have announced it will be an online event.
The statement, released today, reads as follows:
"Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee of the 31st IFSCC Congress 2020 Yokohama has decided to cancel in-person congress in Yokohama, Japan and hold a virtual congress. This has been an exceptionally difficult decision, but the safety and health of our community are more important. We commit you that we will do our best for the success of the first virtual IFSCC Congress.
"We will make a further announcement regarding the details of the virtual congress within June 2020. Until then, please note that the Registration will be closed.
"Also, since we have decided to focus on the academic point of the congress, the Exhibition and Social Events are canceled. Information regarding the amendment of the Registration Fee and Refund Procedure will be provided within June 2020."
