New natural oil extraction facility opens

Vantage has recently opened its new facility dedicated to the extraction and refining of natural oils. The Tucson facility plays an important role in the company’s integrated capabilities with the production of jojoba oil, a major natural ingredient broadly used within the beauty and personal care industry.

“The plant here in Tucson is a node in our global infrastructure for jojoba,” said Serge Rogasik, senior executive vice president of Personal Care at Vantage. “We do one of the most important steps here which is the crushing of the seeds and refining of the oil. We are proud to reveal our brand new, high-capacity machinery that will produce large amounts jojoba oil for the beauty and personal care industry.”

Vantage owns and operates jojoba farms in Arizona, whose seeds will be processed at the new facility in Tucson. Jojoba is a native crop from the Sonoran Desert and is tightly intertwined with Arizona’s rich ethnobotany heritage. Vantage carries on this legacy by leading the science behind jojoba and creating new opportunities to bring jojoba derivatives in beauty and personal care applications, From Farms to Formulations. “Our commitment to jojoba and sustainable farming practices has never been stronger,” said chief operating officer, Noel Beavis. “We have invested in state-of-the-art drip irrigation systems, new employee housing at the farm and with the continuous growth of organic crops, our investment in capabilities and equipment is always on-going.”

The jojoba oil produced in Tucson will be shipped to beauty manufacturers worldwide and will also be further processed at other Vantage facilities to create a wide variety of personal care ingredients.
