Acme-Hardesty has signed a letter of intent to enter into a distribution agreement with Cosun Biobased Products, a manufacturer of renewable, vegetable-based ingredients in the personal care industry.
Acme-Hardesty will be Cosun’s channel partner for the personal care market across the United States.
Cosun Biobased Products is part of Royal Cosun with their head office in the Netherlands. Cosun has a long-lasting history and broad experience with large scale processing of agricultural feedstocks into various ingredients for multiple markets. Optimisation, development and the introduction of new and innovative processes is one of Cosun’s core endeavours within their manufacturing plants, which are supported by technological specialists from the Cosun Innovation Centre. They dedicate themselves to the biobased economy and generate focus, synergy and critical mass. This is achieved by ensuring optimal value creation is realised, no waste is produced (closed loops) and the lowest energy input is achieved.
“Cosun offers a variety of bio-based rheology modifiers that will be a unique and exciting addition to our personal care portfolio,” said Caren Dres-Hajeski, business unit director for Acme-Hardesty’s Personal Care Division. “Cosun is a great fit for Acme-Hardesty because they have built their business on sustainability and bio-based ingredients. These products will be a significant focus for our personal care team in the coming months.”
“Partnering with Acme-Hardesty takes the market introduction of Cosun Biobased’s ingredients to the next level,” said Robert Nolles, marketing & sales director North America for Cosun Biobased Products. “Acme-Hardesty’s extensive network in the personal care market combined with their technical expertise and existing portfolio of sustainable ingredients will propel the use of our ingredients in the market.”
