Finetex has announced the addition of Natrlfine MAC-P3M to its newly created Natrlfine line of functional raw materials.
Macademia nut oil is the only natural oil that has about 15-21% Palmitoleic acid (16:1), along with about 55-67% Oleic acid (18:1). The percentage of Palmitoleic acid is of importance as it is a component found within the moisturising constituent of naturally occurring skin lipids. Natrlfine MAC-P3M is beneficial for incorporation in all types of skin care, hair care and decorative cosmetic products. Face, hand and body creams and lotions are enhanced due to unique aesthetic feel, as well as spreading properties, on the skin. Bath and shower formulations, as well as shampoos and conditioners, will have improved after feel due to the remarkable spreading characteristics as well as the intrinsic lipophilic properties provided by the inclusion of this novel raw material. Natrlfine MAC-P3M is soluble in a wide range of commonly used personal care ingredients, especially those found within the Finsolv and Finester series of benzoate and aliphatic esters. · Philip A. Matena has joined Finetex, an Octel company, as vice president and general manager, and will be based at Elmwood Park, New Jersey, US. He succeeds J. Roger Porter who, after serving 20 years as president of Finetex while it was a private company, is retiring. Philip A. Matena, formerly vice president of personal care at Rhodia Inc, has over 25 years of experience in the personal care industry. Octel acquired Finetex in January 2005 as part of its overall strategy to expand the company’s position in the performance chemicals’ arena.
