As the demand for colour cosmetics that control age-related skin problems rises, consumers are also increasingly looking for innovative product formulations in this segment. This has led to the forecast of the global colour cosmetics sector to grow at a healthy CAGR so what innovations can we expect to come onto the market?
Yuki Yanagi, Vice Director, Department of Application Development of Cosmos Technical Center (Nikkol Group) will hold a session on IRO-ODORI: Jelly eye shadow at the Formulation Lab on Thursday 6 April from 13.00 to 14.00 at in-cosmetics Global in London.
The campaign is called Iro-odori, which is a combination of two Japanese words – ‘iro’ meaning colour and ‘odori’ meaning dance. The eight new formulas highlight transformative textures in make-up formulations. The workshop session will focus on creating a water-based eyeshadow with intense colour in a jelly form that feels watery to touch.
Conventional formulas are anhydrous and powdery while this innovative formula is infused with water while keeping the prerequisites of a good eyeshadow: high colour intensity, quick dry time and transfer resistance.
This session will also give formulators an insight into Japanese culture as traditional Japanese colours relevant to the season will be used within the session.
