China show to reflect growing market

Returning to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center from 1 to 3 March 2016, PCHi 2016 looks set to be the most diverse and robust edition to date, with an even larger international presence anticipated at the upcoming ninth edition.

Improvements in the standard of living and economic growth in Greater China offer vast potential for foreign companies looking to develop their businesses. According to research, China has become one of the largest cosmetics markets in the world and currently ranks first in Asia. Industry revenue has been growing at an annualised rate of 12.2% in the five years through 2015, to an estimated $19.9 billion. This upward trend is expected to persist and industry revenue is forecast to grow by 3.4% annually, leading to a total of US$23.6 billion by 2020. With its huge market potential, China is an industry hotspot for cosmetics manufacturers and ingredients suppliers from all over the globe.

Elynn Xu, project manager, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (RSE), said: “Through the years, RSE has witnessed a surge in the number of international exhibitors and visitors at PCHi. This year, we had 434 exhibitors from 24 countries, an improvement from the year before where we welcomed 380 exhibitors from 21 countries.”
