3D models win coveted prize

At this year’s in-cosmetics, the Beiersdorf group honoured Silab for its innovative Silabskin biological 3D models. This prize was awarded for the second year in a row by the German maker of Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie. This programme is an extension of Beiersdorf’s Pearlfinder open innovation platform, which allows it to quickly evaluate innovative ideas with high-potential entered by manufacturers of cosmetic ingredients.

May Shana’a, international director for Research and Development at Beiersdorf stated: “I’m so happy that our innovation competition is a success once again this year. The suggestions that were submitted have again exceeded our expectations with their high quality and potential.”

Silab was one of three companies to emerge triumphant from among 46 entries, and will see its concept become a reality for one of the group’s brands. Jean-Philippe Cosson, commercial and marketing director for Silab said: “This prize awarded by Beiersdorf also strengthens a lasting relationship based on innovation, a key driver for both of our companies, and recognises the incredible work done by our teams. It is also the result of the quality of the exchange of ideas that took place from the startup of Pearlfinder, a Beiersdorf initiative, to which Silab has contributed from the start.”
