Making Cosmetics 2015 took place on 24-25 March at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK. The show has been increasing its presence in the cosmetics industry over the past three years since its inception, and now represents one of the key dates on the European calendar, which is quite an achievement in such a short space of time.
The 2015 event once again gave great insights into sourcing, manufacturing and outsourcing cosmetics and toiletries, and taking products from concept to consumer for companies of all sizes. Over 900 professionals attended over the two-day period with delegates from companies such as: Asda Stores, Body Shop, Boots & BCM, Lush, M&S, Molton Brown, PZ Cussons, Superdrug, Tesco Stores, and Waitrose.
The exhibition at Making Cosmetics gave a great overview of areas such as testing, contract manufacturing, packaging, regulations and ingredients. Within the exhibition, experts from each of the companies were on hand to help attendees get a better understanding of new technology and concepts. The aisles were busy with plenty of buzz, even during the seminars. Along the edge of the exhibition was a seating area which made an excellent space for people to meet and network.
This year at the show, the free-to-attend seminars were held across four halls, separated into different streams according to subject matter. The seminars were very well attended, with some attracting more than 200 people. According to the organisers, almost every visitor attended more than one session. It is always a difficult task to see and report back on everything at these shows, but following is a summary of some of the seminars Personal Care managed to attend.
