New features a success at Bangkok show

in-cosmetics Asia 2014 was heralded a great success by visitors, exhibitors and organisers. More than 6,595 visitors from across Asia and further afield attended the show, with over 400 suppliers from 28 countries.

According to event organisers, Reed Exhibitions, visitor numbers were up this year by 10%, showing the region’s personal care industry continues to increase its interest in new technology, and also highlighting Asia’s growing importance in the global cosmetics industry.

in-cosmetics Asia exhibition director Sarah Gibson said: “Thailand boasts 2,000 cosmetics manufacturers and they import 90% of their ingredients. 2015 is a particularly important year with the new ASEAN economic community set to open up new opportunities for the personal care industry in the region, so it’s no surprise that this year we hosted more ingredient suppliers than ever-before and the best educational programme thus far. That’s why we are attracting visitors from all over Asia. I am very proud and excited to report that initial feedback is that this year’s exhibition was the best ever.”

And Lisa Carroll, co-founder and director of Native Extracts, a first time exhibitor from Australia, said: “The show was both brilliant and overwhelming and we didn’t expect the excellent response we received. We saw visitors from Korea, Japan, Thailand, India, Malaysia and the Philippines. It’s hard for us to reach out to such a diverse audience from Australia, so the show provided us with a perfect launch pad to enter the Asian market.”
