Innospec has announced that all of its relevant manufacturing sites have achieved RSPO MB multi-site certification.
Innospec became an ordinary member of The Round Table for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in
August 2013. RSPO is an organisation established to promote the growth and use of certified
sustainable palm oil (CSPO). It has developed a set of environmental and social criteria which
companies must comply with in order to produce CSPO derived products.
To demonstrate support for the production and use of sustainable palm oil, Innospec
committed to achieving RSPO Mass Balance (MB) certification for all relevant manufacturing
sites by the end of 2015.
Helen Coy, group sustainable development manager said: “As part of our Sustainable
Development programme, we are delighted to announce that we have reached our target ahead
of schedule. All relevant Innospec manufacturing sites have gained the externally accredited
RSPO MB multi-site certification. This certification enables Innospec to offer CSPO derived
products where supported by the supply chain. “
Patrick S. Williams, president and CEO added: “We are one of the first personal care companies
to achieve accreditation for all of our relevant manufacturing sites. We are extremely proud of
this achievement, not only because we have gained the certification well ahead of our initial
target, but because it will enable us to support our customers’ sustainability goals and
objectives.”
The RSPO MB supply chain model administratively monitors the trade of RSPO certified Palm Oil
and its derivatives throughout the entire supply chain, as a driver for mainstream trade in
sustainable palm oil. The use of RSPO MB palm oil and its derivatives supports the production
of RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil.
