Non-hydrogenated vegetal butters boost skin-feel

A large number of ingredients are used in cosmetic applications. Lipids are commonly known as water non-soluble compounds. Depending on their structure, they can be classified as: fluid lipids (oils), pasty lipids (butters) or solid (waxes). Lipids are constituted by triglycerides (esters) and a fraction called ‘insaponifiable content’.

The following study is aimed at comparing vegetal and hydrogenated butters’ properties. Cosmetic butters are used in personal care formulations for their soothing and moisturising skin benefits, which make them the ideal choice for skin pampering. Cosmetic butters are the perfect solution to bring pleasant structure to finished formulas.

Technology at the service of nature
