The personal care business of AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry has announced two key promotions to advance its sales and technical service efforts.
As sales manager, Personal Care, EMEIA, Himesh Joshi (pictured) leads and oversees the efforts of the personal care sales team in the region. Based in Sempach Station, Switzerland, he brings to his new position more than 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, marketing, business development, and plant operations with leading Indian and multinational companies in the chemical and packaging industries. Joshi’s promotion follows a three-year tenure as country manager, Surface Chemistry, for AkzoNobel India Limited in Mumbai. Prior to joining AkzoNobel in April 2010, he was senior sales manager, Adhesives & Functional Polymers, at Dow Chemical India and before that regional manager, Adhesives & Sealants, at Rohm and Haas India. Joshi earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing at Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla, India.
As technical service manager, Skin Care/Sun Care, Michael Russell manages technical service and applications development for North America. He brings substantial experience in team management and strategy and the formulation of a broad variety of personal care products to his new position. His formulation expertise encompasses skin care products (over-the counter and non-over-the counter) across a wide range of product forms and applications and both professional and retail hair care and hair colour products. Russell joined AkzoNobel in December 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Master of Science degree in Cosmetic Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ.
