New image and new name

Following the successful launch this year of KCC Beauty, the latest brand from KCC and Basildon Chemicals, the first SCS Formulate for the new brand was equally successful.

The merging of the two silicone brands brings new textures and rheologies to the UK from the dozens of new silicones now available from UK stock out of Basildon Chemicals' warehouse in Oxfordshire. Many existing and prospective customers visited the KCC Beauty stand to investigate what was on offer and to take advantage of the technical formulation team on hand. KCC and Basildon Chemicals make up the world’s sixth largest silicone manufacturer.

KCC Beauty presented various new materials including the elastomeric silicone emulsifier SeraSol EL 92 which has been specially designed to create fast breaking ‘water drop’ cream and transparent serum formulations. KCC Beauty SeraSol EL 92 is a PEG modified self-emulsifying crosslinked silicone elastomer surfactant which has been swollen in 6cS dimethicone fluid for the creation of truly unique W/Si emulsions. This silicone emulsifier is capable of making highly stable micelle structures with no additional emulsifiers needing to be added to the formulation. SeraSol EL 92 can be included in many products to enhance the skin feel, spreadability, absorption and 'soft-focus' effect of the finished product and can create highly stable W/Si emulsions.

Various KCC Beauty products for incorporation into CC and BB creams such as their silicone elastomers were also showcased, with an emphasis on those based on KCC’s most popular cyclopentasiloxane replacement SeraSense SF 2. One such product, KCC Beauty SeraSilk EL 65 is a mixture of a high molecular weight crosslinked silicone elastomer in silky volatile straight chained 2cS dimethicone fluid. SeraSilk EL 65 can be included in many products to enhance the skin feel, spreadability, absorption and 'soft-focus' effect of the finished product.

KCC Beauty silicone elastomer blends are strong mattifying agents and are ideal for use in colour cosmetics applications where their sebum absorbing properties offer a matte, smooth and non-greasy appearance. They have the ability to increase formulation oil phase viscosity and produce a dry, silky smooth skin feel.
