Success for anti-ageing peptide

Lipotec achieved silver at the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient award for Juvefoxo peptide. The award recognises active ingredients developments with scientific prowess and the decision of the jury, all international industry experts, took place in the ceremony of October 29, at in-cosmetics Asia.

The novel Juvefoxo peptide mimics the activity of FOXO3a, a protein which is involved in the repair, renewal, and longevity of cells.  By enhancing the mechanisms to diminish the accumulation of DNA damage, this novel peptide has proven its capacity in reverting cellular senescence over 10 years and self-correct DNA errors induced by daily damaging agents, such as UV light or pollutants.  Its DNA-repair properties showed notable results both in vitro and in vivo and confirms the peptide as a key ally in advanced anti-ageing formulations claiming cellular protection, longevity and vitality.

A new clinical study has also been conducted by Lipotec to assess the anti-wrinkle efficacy of Argireline peptide at a concentration of 2%, showing remarkable improvement of skin appearance after just 1 week of treatment. The decrease of wrinkles was in average statistically significant in the volume (-20.6%) and length (15.9%) of the wrinkles.

The mechanism of action of Argireline peptide was a technological innovation: the modulation of muscle contraction by topical treatment to attenuate and reduce wrinkles induced by over-stimulation of facial muscles, thereby offering an alternative or complementary solution to more invasive existing methods. The new in vivo test with Argireline peptide offers new cosmetic strategies that enable claims based on quick benefits for end-users.
