in-cosmetics 2013 has announced that the Société Française des Parfumeurs (SFP) – the French Perfumers Society – will be the official partner of the show’s brand new Fragrance in Cosmetics Zone.
The new Zone has been created to highlight the important role fragrance plays in the development and formulation of cosmetics and personal care products. Fragrance houses and fragrance ingredients suppliers will host interactive pods where visitors can discover their latest products, technologies and technical know-how to inspire new product development.
Perfume compositions used in cosmetics and personal care products account for approximately 30% (in volume) of the total fragrance industry, making this sector a key focus area for suppliers. Following the partnership with the SFP, the dedicated zone will ensure that attendees can learn about all aspects of the fragrance ingredients industry, including formulation challenges, stability issues and consumer preferences for different scents in end products.
“The use of fragrances in cosmetics constitutes a large percentage of the work our 900 members do so we’re really pleased to be partnering with in-cosmetics 2013 – the global event for the personal care ingredients industry” comments Patrick Saint-Yves, president, SFP. “Through the Fragrance in Cosmetics Zone and the accompanying programme of seminars, we aim to inspire and cultivate creativity in the fragrancing of all types of personal care and cosmetics products.”
In addition to the Zone, the in-cosmetics Marketing Trends programme will include a 3.5 hour session covering topics such as synthetic and natural ingredients, formulation and technical challenges, regulatory frameworks and consumer trends. A panel discussion will also see senior SFP members debate key topics and inspire discussion among attendees.
Lucy Gillam, in-cosmetics event director adds: “We are delighted to welcome the SFP to in-cosmetics as the official partner for our brand new Fragrance in Cosmetics feature. As a leading player in the global fragrance industry, the SFP is perfectly placed to contribute to all elements of this exciting project.
“With a physical presence on the central zone of fragrance material suppliers, Patrick Saint-Yves and his team will also work closely with us to deliver a groundbreaking educational programme around fragrance trends, regulations and the formulation and technical challenges posed by fragrancing cosmetics products. Our collaboration will produce global insights into the synergies between fragrance / cosmetics and a unique platform for fragrance houses to meet with cosmetics manufacturers.”
