Oat Cosmetics, a UK-based specialist in the development of natural oat-derived cosmetic ingredients, launched a new range of organic oat ingredients at the SCS Formulate exhibition in Coventry.
The range consists of an organic accredited version of Oat Cosmetics’ best-selling products Oat COM, (Advanced Colloidal Oatmeal) and Oat SOF, (Superfine Oat Flour) adding to their comprehensive collection of natural active ingredients for healthy skin and hair.
The ECOCERT accredited organic flours maintain the anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, antioxidant and protective properties that are available in the certified Ecocert Natural ingredients. These advanced oat flours are versatile cleansers and moisturisers which soothe and protect damaged skin and can also now be used in organic formulations.

Oat COM ORG and Oat SOF ORG are manufactured using our unique patent applied-for extrusion process, which solubilises the oat kernels to produce a fully natural or organic oatmeal without the need to process the oats so extensively."
The ingredients are very adaptable for pH and temperature when formulating and offer a low cost ‘active’ base for creams and lotions due to the unique composition of beta glucans, avenanthramides, phenolics and saponins within the whole oat kernel. Oat COM ORG is an ideal active for application use in creams, lotions & powders whereas Oat SOF ORG's silky feel is effective when used in topical applications.
