Specifically designed for formulation ease, Gransil SiWs combine elastomer, solvent, and emulsifier into one stable product, ultimately reducing the workload of the formulator.
Elementis acquires Fanning and Fancor
Elementis Specialties has announced that, as of December 24, 2009, the company has acquired the assets of The Fanning Corporation and Fancor Limited, one of the largest North American suppliers of lanolin and lanolin derivatives.

Grant Industries is promoting Gransil GVL, a vegetable sourced silicone elastomer delivery system that pairs their polysilicone-11 elastomer (as found in many market leading cosmetics) with a customdesigned Ecocert, odourless vegetable-alkane.

Dramatic mystical colour for cosmetics
Merck KGaA announced recently that it is launching two new synthetic effect pigments, Xirona Moonlight Sparks and Timiron Ice Crystal. Inspired by the magical colours of the moon, the new effect pigment Xirona Moonlight Sparks combines two refined technologies: brilliant shine and expressive colour travel from gold to silver that impart a noble character to cosmetics formulations.

Malaysia team reveals palm breakthrough
The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and Orion Genomics announced that they have sequenced three oil palm genomes from two oil palm species. This achievement could lead to higher yielding species being created for palm oil farmers while reducing pressure on the land it is produced from. E. guineensis is the commercial variety most commonly planted in Malaysia.
