After 33 years of service with Lipo Chemicals as senior vice president, Stephen Greenberg PhD has announced he is to retire on 13 July 2012. Dr Greenberg’s long and distinguished career in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries began after obtaining his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1963.
Before joining Lipo, Steve had 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries. Included in his long list of accomplishments while at Lipo is his service as president of the IFSCC. Among Steve’s many contributions through the years, the one of which he is most proud was establishing Lipo as an international company, opening overseas offices and developing a network of distributors that increased the international awareness and technical reputation of Lipo throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. Under his leadership, Lipo launched a continuous series of new products to the market. Most recently, the launch of Liposhield HEV Melanin introduced a unique approach to reduce the signs of ageing, which won the innovation prize at in-cosmetics in 2011. Many of the successful products Lipo currently markets are a direct result of Steve’s work developing new partnerships, often with major corporations who needed Lipo’s expertise to take their products into the personal care market. Steve has led the technical R&D effort across the Lipo group and his experience and leadership will be missed by the entire team.
