UV protection for hair fibre

UV radiation is one of the factors responsible for hair proteins and lipids oxidation which degrade the hair causing a loss in strength, shine and colour. Sunlight alters the amino acids of the cuticle more intensely than those of the cortex, because the outermost layers of the hair fibres receive more intense radiation.

This alteration causes rupture and separation of the outer layers; the hair is weakened and loses mechanical and sensorial properties. Provital’s Kerarice is an active designed to protect colour fading and the hair fibre against sun radiation damage. It is obtained from the rice grain and characterised by a chemical composition rich in peptides, biofunctional aminoacids, polysaccharides and phytic acid. The ex vivo tests show that Kerarice has a protecting effect on keratin and hair lipids and avoids degradation caused by ultraviolet radiation. The product protects and enhances colour of any hair type, even dyed and highlighted, preventing sun damage leading to internal structure damage, and reinforces cuticle for a bright radiance.
