Givaudan has revealed the power of its Unispheres microspheres ingredients designed to ensure uniformity of size, shape, and colour for all types of skin and hair care applications.
A new study revealed that 74% of users of a serum featuring Unispheres technology gave it a high efficacy rating (8 to 10/10), compared to only 55% for the same formula without Unispheres.
The two Unispheres collections – Essentials and Signature – are said to align with key industry trends such as personalisation, premiumisation, and holistic wellbeing.
They enhance visual identity, elevate perceived efficacy, and create a powerful emotional link between consumer and product.
“Beauty is no longer just about results — it’s also about the perception of those results,” said Givaudan Active Beauty innovation and marketing director Fabrice Lefèvre.
“Unispheres Technology not only supports product performance — it enriches its perception through visuals that spark curiosity, evoke emotion, and foster confidence, creating a deeper, more engaging connection with the product,” he added.
In a related development, Givaudan is to acquire Belle Aire Creations, a US fragrance house established in 1982.
While the terms of the deal will not be disclosed, Illinois-bed Belle Aire Creations’ business would have represented approximately 65m Swiss francs ($81.5m) of incremental sales to Givaudan’s results in 2024 on a proforma basis.
The transaction is expected to close by early next year.
