Greentech was presenting visitors with details of two significant new actives – Timiline and Organic Epica.
Timiline is a slimming active resulting from an improved knowledge of adipocytes physiology, with a new approach of fat storage treatment in sub-cutaneous tissue resulting from the imbalance between lipogenesis and lipolysis.
The ordinary pathways explore lipolysis process. Fat storage begins with the fatty acids originated from triglycerides breakage (from diet) that enter in the adipocyte through the LPL (Lipoprotein Lipase) action and once inside, they activate the lipogenesis process. On the other hand, during the triglycerides breakage, fatty acids are released outside the adipocyte and can come back in adipocytes for lipidic storage. The most used pathway for slimming action is the process activated by a lipase, which is hormone sensible and has a limited result.
The point is to act on other lipases, which are not hormone sensible; both LPL and ATGL (Adipose Triglyceride Lipase) have their activity modulated by a messenger: Adipokine FIAF, which acts independently from hormones and nutritional factors.
Timiline locally induces an overexpression of the gene FIAF and as a result the increase in Adipokine FIAF synthesis. Timiline acts on four important pathways:
• Timiline inhibits the differentiation of pre-adipocytes in adipocytes.
• Timiline, via the Adipokine FIAF synthesised by adipocytes, directly inhibits the activity of the enzyme Lipoprotein Lipase, LPL, with a significant decrease in the lipids entrance in adipocytes and in lipogenesis and hence in the fat storage.
• Timiline activates the enzyme Adipose Triglyceride Lipase, ATGL , which has an important role in lipolysis and in the release of fatty acids.
• Timiline via the increase in the synthesis of apolipoproteins, favours the transport of all these free fatty acids from adipocytes towards peripheral tissues to be used as energy source.
Timiline allows a significant decrease in the hyperplasia and hypertrophy of adipose tissues via a direct and localised action at the adipocyte level.
Timiline has several cosmetic applications:
• Less orange peel skin effect.
• Increase of skin firmness.
• Promotion of soothing effect.
• Reduction of cellulite.
A leader in Ecocert organic certified ingredients and actives, Greentech has introduced its new active, Organic Epica, reinforcing its organic certified range of more than 200 products. Organic Epica is an anti-ageing active, mixing the active principles of pine bark and blackcurrant leaves.
Pine and blackcurrant are cultivated in an area certified organic: agriculture guaranteed to have no GMO, and no pesticides, weedkillers or fertilisers.
The natural properties of pine and blackcurrant are synergetic. Flavonoids and OPCs extracted from Pinus sylvestris have antioxidant properties. A high level of flavonoids and prodelphinidins contained in Organic Epica is extracted from Ribes nigrum leaves and induces a soothing effect to the skin.
Organic Epica is titrated in polyphenols compounds (expressed in catechins): more than 7%.
Organic Epica efficacy has been proved with several tests:
• Anti-elastase.
• Anti-collagenase.
• Anti-hyalurodinase.
• Antioxidant.
• Anti-wrinkle.
Thanks to the synergy of its two plants, Organic Epica has a strong reduction effect on face fine lines and wrinkles.
