Gattefossé unveils Noxifense at PCHi China

Gattefossé revealed Noxifense, a 100% plant-based skin care bioactive derived from sea-buckthorn, at this month's PCHi (Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients) 2025 trade show in Guangzhou, China.

The ingredient is designed to tackle ‘oxi-inflammation’, the harmful interplay between oxidative stress and inflammation.

More specifically, it calms the oxi-inflammatory environment generated by lipoperoxidation and provides a shot of antioxidant defence to the skin.

It has been clinically proven to soothe the most reactive and sensitive skins. Sensitive skins recover their glow and comfort, even in the most challenging environment.

Its soothing effects are achieved through a finely tuned process targeting specific families of flavonoids, which are of high interest for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Gattefossé has secured the supply of upcycled sea buckthorn leaves from a family-owned orchard in Quebec, Canada, which is dedicated to its organic cultivation and the transformation of berries into food items.

Every September, the fruit-bearing branches are manually cut, allowing for tree pruning.

The unused leaves are separated from the fruits, which will be transformed into juices, sorbets, or jams.
