CLR takes lid off vegan kefir active ingredient

CLR has launched CefiraProtect CLR, a vegan fermented skin care active ingredient designed to help skin maintain its oxidative balance and enhance its self-defence mechanisms.

The new active is derived from Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens, an important constituent of kefir grains, and known for its probiotic properties.

It produces the high-value ingredient kefiran, a polysaccharide with significant health-promoting properties.

CefiraProtect CLR is said to significantly protect skin proteins from oxidation caused by free radicals, thus maintaining its radiance, firmness, elasticity, and barrier function.

It makes the skin more resilient and tolerant to environmental stressors, and effectively reduces both visible and underlying inflammations, providing comprehensive protection that goes beyond surface-level care.

In clinical trials, CefiraProtect CLR demonstrated a significant reduction in hidden inflammation in 90% of participants compared to a placebo.

By maintaining oxidative balance and reducing inflammation, CefiraProtect CLR helps preserve the skin's youthful qualities and overall health, establishing itself as the ideal daily companion for maintaining vibrant, resilient skin.

CefiraProtect CLR will be covered in greater detail in the forthcoming October 2024 issue of Personal Care Global magazine.
