Licences acquired for two new actives

Symrise has acquired licences for two new groups of cosmetic active ingredients. This was achieved in a joint development project with biotech specialist BRAIN and natural product company AnalytiCon.

The goal of the strategic partnership, which was initiated in April 2007, was to jointly develop innovative and all-natural active ingredients for use in cosmetics. “This alliance allows Symrise to follow new paths in developing highly effective cosmetic ingredients and continuing to expand its competence in the field of active ingredients for skin and hair care,” said Gabriele Vielhaber, vice president, Symrise Innovation R&D, Life Essentials. By the middle of last year, 2008, the three cooperation partners successfully completed two screening procedures to identify multiple groups of innovative active ingredients thus enabling Symrise to develop new active components for use in cosmetics.
Symrise has published genealogies for skin care products. The two genealogies – covering body care and sun care products – provide a detailed overview of existing products, new releases and trends in the market.
Nathalie Feisthauer has been appointed as a new senior perfumer at the Paris Creative Center of Symrise. Achim Daub, global president of Symrise Scent & Care, said: “Nathalie Feisthauer is an extraordinary perfumer who will strongly contribute to the continuous expansion of our world-class expertise in the field of creative perfumery.”
