French trade body Cosmetic Valley joins Value of Beauty Alliance

Leading French perfumery-cosmetics industry body Cosmetic Valley has joined the Value of Beauty Alliance.

Cosmetic Valley brings together the French industry, from plant cultivation to finished products, by strengthening the visibility and attractiveness of research laboratories, companies and regions and sharing the challenges and opportunities of the sector.

Launched in January, The Value of Beauty Alliance, is aimed at highlighting the economic and societal impact of the cosmetics industry to European authorities.

The other members of the Brussels-based organisation include DSM-Firmenich, Givaudan, IFF, L'Oréal, Beiersdorf, Albéa, Puig, Kiko Milano, Ancorotti Cosmetics, Fiabila and Patyka.

“This campaign aims to bring together the entire European beauty value chain for the first time to promote our diverse ecosystem and demonstrate the valuable contribution we make to Europe, both at an economic and societal level,” said Cosmetic Valley in a statement.

“The beauty and personal care industry plays a vital economic and societal role in Europe. However, the importance and scale of the beauty value chain is often underestimated. We are a major contributor to the EU economy at €29 billion annually.

“We employ more than 3 million people, and we are a leader in innovation, investing an estimated €2.35 billion in research and development annually.”
