Today’s consumers are demanding more sustainable ingredients in their personal care products,
but they aren’t willing to sacrifice performance and they don’t want an increase in price. This
puts formulators in a tough spot because many of the sustainable ingredients on the market
simply can’t solve all these problems at once. IBC has created a line of non-ionic bio-based
surfactants for use in personal care formulations and consumer facing products called
EdenSurfTM to help formulators combat this issue.
We measure the sustainability of our products by their Renewable Carbon Index (RCI) which is a
measurement of the renewable material content in a product. It’s calculated by dividing the
carbons from renewable sources by the total carbons in an active ingredient. IBC is working to
index all our products according to RCI. Our Integrity Innovations group is constantly updating
our products to meet environmental regulations and advancements. By incorporating bio-based
surfactants into our formerly synthetic formulations, we’ve raised the RCI of our entire product
line from 0% to 70% in some cases.
Edensurf’s novel and patented surfactant outperforms traditional synthetic products while
maintaining a renewable carbon index greater than 81% in all products, with some as high as
100%. Our unique manufacturing process means that we can make it in serious quantities, fast.
Formulators can use Edensurf to improve performance, replace bad actors, stay competitive, and
increase the volume of renewable materials in their products. Edensurf touts high water solubility
and is broadly compatible with alcohol surfactants & amphoterics, is sulfate and paraben free,
with non-detectable levels of 1,4 dioxane and is produced with no hazardous materials.
