Belgian life sciences outfit S-Biomedic has launched CutiNaturalis probiotic, an active designed to help restore the facial skin microbiome natural balance.
The company says CutiNaturalis is developed from the selected and clinically tested strain of Cutibacterium acnes, CA-31, which is a “highly effective agent that can restore your skin’s natural balance when in dysbiosis state”.
“This skincare active helps restore the facial skin microbiome natural balance when it has been altered by external factors,” the company said.
“These could be environmental stressors, the use of harsh compounds (e.g., disinfectants), or the use of certain cosmetics (e.g., cleansers).”
Veronika Oudova, CEO of SBiomedic, added: “There is increasing emphasis and customer awareness about the skin microbiome potential for skin health and modulation capabilities with probiotics.”
“Thanks to its high-performing technology platform and expertise, S-Biomedic is now offering to skin care brands this naturally present, on-the-skin living strain for their innovation projects and probiotic cosmetic formulations.”
