Mibelle Biochemistry’s new-launch MelanoGray, an essence made from Chios mandarins that “markedly reduces the quantity of grey hair in both men and women”
Mibelle Biochemistry’s new-launch MelanoGray (INCI: Citrus Reticulata Extract/Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine) Extract (and) Acetyl Tyrosine (and) Pentylengycol (and) D-Glucono-1,5-Lactone (and) Sodium benzoate (and) Aqua/Water), an essence made from Chios mandarins. It “markedly reduces the quantity of grey hair in both men and women”, the company says.
MelanoGray is supplied in liquid form and is water-soluble. The recommended use level is 1-2%. In vitro tests showed that it stimulates melanin synthesis, upregulates melanogenesis-supporting and antioxidant genes, and restore gene expression in stressed melanocytes. In in vivo trials, it reduced the grey hair ratio by 21.6% and offered a long-lasting repigmentation effect over more than one month.
While mandarin oranges are grown on every continent, Chios mandarins are grown exclusively on the Greek island of Chios, which has a calcium-rich soil based on limestone. The stable temperatures and the Meltemi winds give the island a mild microclimate that protects fruit from frost during the winter months.
