Basildon Chemicals, a subsidiary of KCC Corporation, announced that it will be acquired by Momentive Performance Materials Inc.
The acquisition of Basildon Chemicals (KCC Basildon) will be part of a larger acquisition of KCC Corporation’s Silicones business – in Korea and the UK as well as its sales operations in China – by Momentive Performance Materials.
“This acquisition will allow us to expand our global footprint, focus our strengths and expertise on advanced technologies, and boost our innovation pipeline,” said David Geden, Interim Managing Director for Basildon Chemicals. “We’re excited by the synergies this acquisition will bring to Momentive and the broader KCC Corporation,” said Momentive President and CEO Sam Conzone, PhD. “It expands our technological capabilities and geographic footprint while also substantially strengthening our position in countries with strong and growing demands for silicones and specialty materials.”
