Applications lab focused on helping to fight pandemic

Barentz has refocused their personal care applications lab to test all the potential hydro-alcoholic thickeners on offer, from traditional carbomers to more modern hydroxycelluloses.

Chris Ott managing director of Barentz Personal Care said: “We put together a complete guide with hydro-alcoholic thickener ingredients, suppliers, inclusion levels and production methodology for our sales managers world-wide. As a distributor we tackle this pandemic together with our customers. Our sales teams effortlessly support the manufacturers in their choice of ingredients for the sanitising end products. We have seen a very high increase in demand of all these ingredients over the past three weeks.”

Barentz is also ready to support the local community with disinfecting materials. As an example the UK, the applications lab made large batches of antibacterial hand gel and donated those to the local nursery Bridge End Nursery, in Yorkshire, that has remained open to care for the children of key healthcare workers.
