Virtual conference for the personal care industry

in-cosmetics Global has announced details of a new three-day virtual conference that will take place from 31 March – 2 April (the show’s original pre-postponement dates), offering potential visitors a snapshot of what will be covered when the event opens in Barcelona later this year.

Featuring a mixture of leading suppliers and industry experts, a series of 15-minute webinars will offer a taster of this year’s educational programme – including the latest marketing trends, scientific advances and new product launches. Industry experts from Euromonitor International, Mintel and Stylus will open the conference each day with an introduction to some of the sector’s biggest trends and challenges.

Kicking off day one (31 March), Gabriella Beckwith, senior analyst – Beauty and Fashion, Euromonitor International will provide attendees with a virtual tour around the world’s ‘Beauty Geographic Hotspots’ and demonstrate country-branded beauty movements from K-Beauty to A-Beauty.

Mintel’s associate director Beauty and Personal Care, Andrew McDougall, will open day two (1 April) with a look to the future, exploring how the next ten years will be monumental for beauty as we see significant shifts in consumer behaviour.

Finally, on day three (3 April), Lisa Payne, senior beauty editor at Stylus, will preview the five beauty consumer tribes that brands need to know about.

In addition to keynote speakers, several workshops have also been confirmed, including a session by Dr Barbara Olioso, managing director of The Green Chemist Consultancy, on 31 March, entitled 'The new mindset for formulators to achieve microbial protection using multifunctional cosmetic ingredients with consumers’ acceptance'.

Dr Carol Treasure, Founder and CEO of XCellR8, will present 'How in-vitro testing can help understand the impact of preservatives during product development' on 1 April, while Nava Dayan Ph.D, owner of Dr Nava Dayan LLC Skin Care R&D Consulting, will answer questions about the development of skin microbiome related products on 2 April.

With many manufacturers focused on minimising their impact on the planet, Laura Busata, Cosmetics R&D senior specialist at UNIFARCO S.p.A, will delve into Ocean safe beauty, providing an exclusive overview of the emerging trends in this area. And with sub-Saharan Africa seen as the “next frontier” in the beauty sector, Zeze Oriaikhi-Sao, Founding Director of Malée Natural Science, will reveal how brands are gearing up for a market that is set to double over the coming decade.

There will also be a number of exhibitors presenting Technical Seminars webinars over the three days. Companies currently signed up to give a sneak preview of their latest launches include Ashland, Berkem and Spectrum, with more to be announced over the coming days.

Commenting on the launch of the Online Conference, in-cosmetics Global event director Roziani Zulkifli said: “We have decided to launch the virtual conference to provide all visitors – or indeed those who are unable to attend – with a unique, top-line insight into this year’s world-renowned educational programme. We are hoping that the sessions will give visitors a flavour for the latest new research and cutting edge innovations that will be presented at the exhibition.”

The in-cosmetics Global Online Conference will be hosted on the BrightTalk Webinar channel and will remain on demand after. To register to attend, please visit: https://www.in-cosmetics.com/landing-pages/Online-Conference/
