Formulation Lab fully booked for in-cosmetics Asia

The Formulation Lab’s interactive sessions will teach participants the secrets to creating a winning formulation when the show returns to Bangkok from 5-7 November

The free-to-attend Formulation Lab, which returns to in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok next month, is officially fully booked following a record number of applicants for 2019. The exceedingly popular sessions provide R&D specialists, formulators, and product developers with the secrets to creating winning formulations.

The interactive training sessions will be hosted by personal care ingredients experts, who will impart their formulation expertise, provide helpful hints and tips as well as practical advice to help attendees develop unique solutions and achieve different outcomes using the same ingredient. Over the three-day event, a total of twelve sessions will take place in the Formulation Lab – a purpose-built, and fully equipped laboratory located on the show floor – covering everything from water-based nail varnish to micellar technology and solutions to cater to the personalisation trend.

The lab is set to tackle some of the most demanding challenges cosmetic formulators face, such as using cold press technology to find eco-friendly emulsifiers that can produce high performing formulas with pleasant sensory attributes. The session, led by Sonia Dini, R&D Formulator from Innovacos Corp., will educate attendees on formulating a green emulsion with unique skin-feel properties using PolyAquol™ VO4 - a new concept that blends water and oil. The innovative low energy method is designed to save personal care formulators both time and money.

Technical Manager, Lisa Wu, will also demonstrate Evonik’s latest breakthrough in fermentation technology, the Rheance Glycolipids platform, which facilitates the commercial production of nature-identical biomolecules generated entirely from sugars. The session offers R&D lab staff the chance to see, touch and feel the mild yet efficient skin cleansing foam formula.

Attendees can also join Sofia Lee, Technical Service Engineer at Lubrizol, who will run a workshop in line with the “green” trend by creating an advanced sunscreen lotion containing no silicones and made from almost exclusively naturally derived emulsifiers. Professionals joining the workshop will learn how to formulate a high SPF all-mineral sunscreen using Lubrizol’s Matrifuse™ S-1 dispersant, which effectively separates the inorganic pigment particles and enhances formulation stability.

in-cosmetics Asia will take place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Asia's premier exhibition and convention centre from 5-7 November 2019. For more information, please visit https://asia.in-cosmetics.com/
