The French-based cosmetic ingredients company NUWEN and Biesterfeld Spezialchemie have signed a new agreement to intensify their cooperation in Europe. After successfully starting in Russia for a selected portfolio, the partnership has been extended and Biesterfeld will distribute NUWEN’s products in the Balkan countries, the Baltics, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
Biesterfeld’s product portfolio now extends from conventional surfactants to innovative active ingredients including a broad selection of natural and derived natural raw materials suitable for various cosmetic applications. New to the portfolio are, for example, ready-to-use peel-off, exfoliating and rinse-off masks. Seawater, clays, marine actives as well as several micro and macro algae complement the product range. Algae are multi-talented in cosmetic formulations as they consist of 100% active substances and provide numerous positive effects for the body. It has been scientifically proven that effects including anti-ageing, firming, regenerating or moisturising can be achieved using the right algae.
Bettina Heick, business manager LifeScience at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie said: “We are very delighted to extend our partnership. NUWEN is the perfect fit for our current portfolio as the demand for natural and sustainable ingredients is seeing even further growth. Algae are interesting ingredients; they can survive under very harsh conditions and adapt perfectly to different conditions - just what is needed when creating a perfect cosmetic formulation!”
“Biesterfeld and NUWEN share a common understanding on how to best serve customers,” adds Sophie Rocoboy, business unit manager Cosmetics at NUWEN. “We have seen a strong demand for masks in the European market. With Biesterfeld’s excellent market presence and reputation on the Personal Care sector paired with their technical expertise regarding formulations and their outstanding customer services, we are confident that we have chosen the right partner to further explore the European market.”
