Focus on sunscreen testing

The combination of these two areas of expertise, specifically dedicated to sunscreen testing, is in line with the new recommendations of the European Commission and COLIPA (European Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Association), which favour in vitro test methods for the UVA evaluation of sunscreen products. Such in vitro test methods, used in conjunction with in vivo testing, will define the minimum level of UVA solar protection.

Responding to the statutory changes, the two companies have designed their in vitro/ in vivo kit, which contains SPF (Sun Protection Factor) UVB in vivo tests, PI (Index of Protection) UVA in vitro tests and critical wavelength tests.
